enjamin Sookhoo, MD:
ITS. has launched a cephalomedullary nail designed to address every fracture pattern for the most commonly fixed injury in orthopaedics. “When you’re on call, consider reaching for the HIP-G. It can address your nondisplaced to your displaced standard pertrochanteric fractures with a single lag screw and traditionally axial based set screw.”
The HIP-G is also meant to be your one-stop shop, designed to handle even the most complex, unstable periprosthetic fractures. With masterful engineering, the lag screw and inferior-based set screw can address every fracture pattern with dynamic or static locking. The DyCon technology controls lateral slide of the lag screw and opens the possibility to dial in femoral neck shortening during healing. We now have greater control over lateral prominence of the lag screw as fractures heal. “It’s about time we don’t have to fight body habits when fastening a set screw.” This nail has the option for a laterally based primary lag and anti-rotation set screw, eliminating the hassle of axial set screws in certain patients.
